I have seen this before almost verbatim and it was a hoax. I personally would proceed no further on it.

It came from ben-y.org, which is what I researched. The website says they are a domain name registrant in china. No links, no attachments, nothing like that. Just asking for us to reply

I tell my clients that unless it comes from the Registrar their domain is through just delete it. Too many scams out there nowadays.

I see it all the time. The company might be legit Chinese/other Asian registrar, sell tactics however are questionable at best. My advise, ignore the emails.

Its simple. They are not your domains register and nothing good can come from replying to that message which you absolutely know is a scam of some kind. Send it to Junk mail and forget it.
